Our Lesson Horses at Redwood Stables

Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell is a mare of mystery. Tink is 12-years old and is a Palomino Paint that was found in a back paddock by a trainer in 2022. Tink then spent the next few months in pony bootcamp before coming to Redwood to join our school program. Tinkerbell is a Charter member of the Redwood herd, being the first horse to join our barn. Tinkerbell is the embodiment of brains and beauty and we are lucky to have her. She’s had a great summer showing in the jumpers and won Reserve Champion in July.

Leandro

Leandro is the biggest boy in the barn, and arguably the ring leader of our geldings. A Draft Hackney Appaloosa cross, Leandro stands about 17HH and is a dark bay. He was a Fourth Level Dressage horse for much of his career, and is now one of our beginner horses because of his impeccable movement. He is a barn favourite for his gentle nature with young riders, but he’s a bit slobbery when taking treats, so be warned. Leandro is an absolute beauty and is the perfect example of a gentle giant. We are lucky to have him and let him know it every day.

Lola

Meet Lola, a beautiful 14-year-old Warmblood. Lola is a schoolmaster who has all the tricks and buttons. She’s had a very successful show season this summer. Quiet confidence is the best way to describe this stunning mare and her approach to horse life.

Chavo

Chavo is a 12-year-old, bay, Thoroughbred who is a stable favourite for his sweet personality, talent and versatility - beginner to advanced, he can do it all.
He is a bit of a “Horseshoe Houdini” though, and seems to quite regularly lose/remove his shoes, so he is also a farrier favourite. Chavo is always the first horse to the fence to greet you, and will always follow you out of the paddock, whether you want him to or not. This guy is brains, beauty and sweetness.

Bea

Bea is a 5yo Thoroughbred that was born in Kentucky. She is very calm, but this white (grey) mare can jump! She is a horse who likes to be fussed over and loves her treats. She rides with our intermediate riders because she loves to jump, but is also happy bringing a beginner for a slow walk around the ring.

Flash

Flash is a 6-year-old Paint who came to us from London, Ontario, and is a stable favourite for his willingness to adapt to his rider. He’s our go-to for beginners because he is sweet and calm, but our advanced riders also love him for his energy in the ring and over jumps.

Titan

Every stable needs that horse who is wise, kind and a bit long in the tooth. A horse who has seen and done it all, and is now ready to take the slower path
Meet Titan - a 24-year-old QH who has entered semi-retirement, and will be our walk/trot go-to for absolute beginners and riders looking for a steady-eddy kind of ride. Nothing too challenging for this guy. He deserves an easy life. He is the absolute sweetest boy, with impeccable manners. He’s got nothing to prove and has zero attitude. He just wants to be groomed, fed apples and enjoy life.
